The summer is sizzling with the BVICCHA…literally. Summer Sizzle BVI and the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association have created a unique partnership. Maybe even one no one would expect.

Summer Sizzle BVI is a world-renowned fashion and lifestyle event that runs over multiple days. After missing 2020 because of the pandemic, Summer Sizzle BVI is back in its 12th year. On July 21 – 26, Summer Sizzle BVI promises to be the perfect time to relax, relate, and release after living through a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. With lineups of local and international designers, the highly anticipated runway Global Glamour Runway Show will showcase well-known international and emerging fashion designers, including three Virgin Islands women who have come together to celebrate the power of vibrant and inspired art paired with bold and beautiful designs. World-renowned fashion designer Kristen Frazer, internationally collected Abstract Artist Roma Harrigan-Osowo, and rising creative Alexia Penn have created a powerful partnership called ARK (which represents their first names -Alexia, Roma, and Kristin). ARK will launch at the Global Glamour Runway Show and highlight Virgin Islander Stella Maze of Stella Hues luxury footwear and hand-made luxury jewelry from Jamaican creative Peta-Gaye Chong of Emunah Collective.

The BVICCHA’s vision is to be the confident and proactive voice of the business sector and a driving force for business development and economic growth. It is the Chamber’s mission to empower, educate and equip businesses in the Virgin Islands for their success and growth. For almost 51 years, the BVICCHA has been connecting its members to a growing network of like-minded business owners for various industries. The Chamber's purpose is to advocate for businesses, create business connections, and be a resource for all businesses in the Virgin Islands. The BVICCHA also manages the BVI National Culinary Team.

So what do Summer Sizzle BVI and the BVICCHA have in common? Both have a strong desire to see local talent, makers, and business owners on the international map!

Curated by the BVICCHA, select creators will be selling and displaying their goods and services opening night at the Loose Mongoose on 22 July and runway show night on 24 July at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex. These business owners will also have the opportunity to tantalize the patrons of the VIP Cocktail Hour by placing their promotional items and goodies in the swag bag for each VIP ticket holder of the Global Glamour Runway Show.

The event will also witness the first participatory event for the 2019 Silver Medalist BVI National Culinary Team. The National Culinary Team, coordinated by Chef Tonya Malone-Smith, will cater for the Global Glamour Runway Show VIP Hour. The Team’s mixologist, reigning gold medalist Everson Rawlins, will create two signature drinks, sponsored by Caribbean Cellars, for the opening and runway show nights.
