Annual General Meeting 2025

The BVI Chamber of Commerce invites all members to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025. This year’s meeting is especially significant, as members will elect the Board of Directors in accordance with the updated Memorandum & Articles of Association following the Chamber’s organizational restructuring in 2023.

Agenda Highlights

  • Report on Chamber activities and initiatives

  • Election of Directors (all positions open for election, one-year term)

  • Recognition and thanks to outgoing Directors

  • Member updates and networking

Nominations

Members in good standing are invited to submit nominations to fill Board positions. Nominations must be in writing, signed by two Full Members in good standing, and must include the consent of the nominee. Nominations are due by 30 September 2025.

Board Positions Open:

 

Chair

  • Serves as the chief elected officer and presides at all meetings of the membership and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversees the strategic direction, operations, and advocacy efforts of the Chamber.
  • Acts as the primary spokesperson for the Chamber to the public, government officials, and media.

Chair-Elect

  • Successor to the Chair, ensuring leadership continuity.
  • Assists the Chair with duties such as leading committees, representing the Chamber, or managing projects.
  • Presides at meetings or represents the board in the Chair’s absence.

Secretary

  • Carries out the instructions and directives of the Directors.
  • Conducts the correspondence of the Chamber.
  • Prepares agendas (in consultation with the Chair) and maintains minutes and attendance records.

Treasurer

  • Serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Chamber.
  • Maintains accounts and presents monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Prepares annual financial statements and ensures timely audits.

Membership Director

  • Responsible for recruiting, retaining, and engaging members.
  • Supports building a strong and active membership base to sustain the Chamber’s mission and financial health.

Events Director

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes Chamber events.
  • Chairs the Events Committee and manages expos, seminars, networking mixers, fundraisers, and award ceremonies.

Advocacy Director

  • Represents business interests in public policy and government relations.
  • Ensures the voice of the business community is heard in legislative and community decision-making processes.

Training Director

  • Develops and oversees training and capacity-building programs.
  • Supports professional growth and skill development of members and the local business community.

Communications Director

  • Manages internal and external communications to enhance visibility.
  • Promotes initiatives and engages members and the wider community.
  • Shapes the Chamber’s public image and ensures consistent messaging.
